About this wine
Following a bumper harvest in 2023, the vines responded with a small vintage in 2024. This suited a relatively cool vintage, enabling the vines to fully ripen our Pinot Noir grapes by the end of October. This is testament to the dedication of our vineyard team and the quality of our terroir. With skilled winemaking, the result is a reflection of the vineyard and the vintage – concentrated red and black fruit balanced with black pepper and clove. Serve lightly chilled - 12 to 13 degrees optimal.
The Pinot Noir grapes were sourced exclusively from Hollands’ vineyard in the Crouch Valley. Fruit was handpicked in October 2024 into 15kg crates and transported across the estate to the winery. The grapes were carefully destemmed and lightly crushed before a 5-day cold soak. Fermentation was conducted in stainless steel vats at cool temperatures with a mix of punch downs and pump overs twice a day. The fermented must was loaded by hand to a basket press and the wine transferred to 228L French oak barrels for malolactic conversion and maturation for 14 months before bottling unfined and unfiltered in February 2025.
